About Kathy Griffin

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey in which my goal is to provide you with the tools to gain insight and self-awareness that will foster personal growth and positive change in your life. On your journey, I hope to help you become more conscious and accepting of who you are in your authentic and genuine self.  The decision to discover and unravel years of masking requires bravery and commitment. I honor the strength required to take this step.

The therapeutic space can be a very powerful tool in relieving distress, learning about oneself, and filtering through the distortions that prevent a person from living a more fulfilled authentically happy life. At the core of my therapeutic approach is the understanding that a nurturing, open, genuine, and trusting relationship is paramount for counseling to be successful. To that end, I bring a warm, personable, empathic, and compassionate energy to my clinical work and aim to embody a safe space where you can freely express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions without fear of judgment.

I aim to work collaboratively with you, to respectfully challenge you, and to assist you on a path toward personal growth and positive change.

I strongly believe that everyone possesses inner strength and resources to overcome the troubling obstacles in their life; my role will be to help you discover, activate, and build upon your inherent abilities.

Experience working with children and adolescents (ages 3 to 18), who have significant emotional problems related to traumatic life events (e.g., posttraumatic stress disorder, fear, anxiety, sexual violence/abuse, grief, or depression).
